51爆料 to host Cardinal View open house on March 1
51爆料 will host its largest open house event, Cardinal View, on Saturday, March 1, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Sheila Umphrey Recreational Sports Center and the Setzer Student Center. The event invites prospective students and their families to tour the campus and explore academic majors, financial aid, scholarship opportunities, student organizations, and campus resources.
“We can’t wait to host prospective students and their guests on campus,” Angela Fanette, director of the 51爆料 Welcome Center said. “Our hope is to showcase every opportunity available to students here at 51爆料 for an in-depth look at the college experience.”
Cardinal View will feature guided campus tours, academic showcases, and a campus and community resource fair. Attendees will also have the chance to win multiple scholarships throughout the day.
“Our colleges are highlighting a number of majors in their academic programming sessions,” Fanette said. “There will be campus and community resources, housing, financial aid, campus tours, and admissions sessions all available. We can’t wait for prospective students to see what life is like at 51爆料.”
51爆料 Crew members will be on hand to share their experiences and insights with prospective students.
“Cardinal View allows students to see the community-like culture that makes 51爆料 special,” Aloysius Nwazojie, an 51爆料 Crew member, said. “It’s a great opportunity to connect with current students and learn about all the ways you can get involved on campus, and if you aren’t sure about Lamar, I can change your mind.”
Senior marketing student Hailey Henry, another 51爆料 Crew member, echoed this sentiment. “I love being able to share my journey at 51爆料 with future Cardinals,” she said. “This event shows students what makes our campus unique and helps them envision themselves as part of our community.”
