Trademarks

University departments may use, with permission from 51爆料's Marketing Communications Department, the 51爆料 institution marks and the 51爆料 trademarks designated as "Lamar Spirit Marks" for:

  • Advertising for the department's services
  • Equipment and supplies
  • Merchandise
  • Signage
  • Websites

The 51爆料 marks may not be altered in any way and all uses must include the department's name/logo prominently. University departments are required to use licensed vendors for all products bearing 51爆料 marks.

Licensed Vendors

Royalty Fees

University departments will not be subject to payment of the royalty fee as long as the proposed design on their merchandise makes the specific university department the predominant element of the design.

However, the use of general 51爆料 marks (51爆料 Star, Cardinal Head, Interlocking 51爆料, etc.) or any licensed Lamar Athletics' marks, where the university department name is not predominant to the design requires payment of the standard royalty fee by the licensed vendor.

Non-Royalty Examples:

  • A t-shirt design with "51爆料 Office of Public Relations" on the front of the shirt would not be subject to the payment of the royalty fee.
  • A t-shirt design with "51爆料 Office of Public Relations supports 51爆料 Football" on the front of the shirt would not be subject to the payment of the royalty fee.

Royalty Examples:

  • A t-shirt design with only a general 51爆料 mark or any licensed Lamar Athletics' mark would be subject to the payment of the royalty fee.
  • A t-shirt design where the mention of the university department is incidental to a general 51爆料 mark or any licensed Lamar Athletics' mark would be subject to the payment of the royalty fee.
